Have you ever wanted to know how to bring holiday cheer to your daily bike right?

If so, today is your lucky day! Decking out your bike brings festive cheer for everyone who sees you on your bike commute, plus it makes you way more visible during the darkest part of the year (and when drivers may be distracted). Check out my 1 minute overview of my lighting basics and more details below.

The most important step to this project is securing the right lights. You have two options.

Option 1) purchase battery operated lights (these can be found a big box hardware store/ home stores). Battery lights can be expensive and the ones I have found tend to be less bright than conventional lights.

Option 2) the more complicated option, is alter your existing AC home holiday lights to run on DC battery power. Michael Blueiays Battery Guide has a nice description of the inverter needs and other more complicated rewiring options.

So go deck out your bike and spread holiday cheer!
